A deep low-pressure system is moving in just in time for the weekend.
The windy weather in the mountains will calm down somewhat, and from Sunday, it can become windy in the south as well, says Therese Fougman, on-duty meteorologist at SMHI.
The wind will die down on Monday night, and the clouds will clear, making it clear up, at least temporarily.
In connection with this, the temperature can drop to zero in Svealand, says Therese Fougman.
As for the weather on New Year's Eve itself, it looks like it will be mild in the south but cold in the north.
A precipitation area will pass over Götaland and Svealand on Tuesday night. It will likely stall over Svealand, where it can rain during the day, while the area north of Mälardalen will get snow or sleet, says Therese Fougman.
