Several countries in the Middle East are directing harsh criticism towards Israel since they broke the ceasefire with Hamas, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Kuwait, and Jordan.
Israel's escalated attacks "will ultimately set the region ablaze and undermine its security and stability", warns the Foreign Ministry in Doha in a statement.
Egypt's President Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi says in a statement that the attacks are part of "conscious attempts to make the Gaza Strip uninhabitable and force Palestinians to flee",
Israel's archenemy, Iran, allied with Hamas, accuses Israel of genocide and ethnic cleansing – and claims that even the USA is "directly responsible" for Israel's actions. According to Turkey's Foreign Ministry, Israel's "genocide policy has entered a new phase".
Strong reactions are also coming from Europe. France urges Israel "to immediately cease hostilities that risk compromising efforts to free hostages and threatening civilian lives among Gaza's inhabitants".
Russia and China are warning against an escalation of the conflict.
UN Chief Antonio Guterres is reportedly "shocked" by the renewed attacks on Gaza and says that Gazans are subject to an "unacceptable level of suffering".
The Palestinian Authority, which leads a limited self-government on the Israeli-occupied West Bank, is urging the international community to act against Israel.
