Five prostitutes in the Stockholm area were subjected to assault and robbery by the man last winter. Two of the women were allegedly subjected to aggravated rape and were also threatened with a knife.

"He said that if I spoke or said anything, he would kill me, and he didn't put away the knife he was holding against me," one of the women later told the police.

According to prosecutor Anders Hirsch, the man was armed during all the crimes he is charged with, two aggravated rapes and three aggravated robberies.

Some form of weapon was used on all occasions. As stated in the indictment, it was a knife in four cases and a pistol-like object in one case, he previously said to TT.

The man, who is in his 40s, had a municipal employment as a case officer. He allegedly came into contact with the women through various prostitution and escort websites, and after establishing contact, went to meet them.

The man was arrested in February after the police were able to link him to a phone number that the women had been in contact with, and he has been detained since then.

He denies all allegations of robbery and rape, although he admits to having met women on a few occasions and paying for sex.

The trial in Solna District Court has been held behind closed doors. The verdict will be announced at 11 am.

Corrected: In an earlier version, the name of the district court was incorrect.
