A prosecutor who is a cousin of a suspected gang leader was prosecuted on Monday for two crimes against confidentiality, reports Expressen.
One case concerns a murder south of Stockholm, where she herself was the lead investigator in 2022. According to the indictment, she leaked information about the investigation, which was covered by confidentiality, to another person.
The woman has admitted to the prosecutor's description of what happened, but denies the crime. She claims that the sole purpose was to ventilate her opinion about the circumstances of the murder to a relative.
In the second case, the woman is said to have photographed a computer screen with information about who was suspected of a serious weapons offence. She then allegedly shared the image with another person. Even in this case, she admits to the sequence of events, but denies the crime, as she claims she did not reveal the suspect's identity.
The crimes are not considered serious.
