The Norwegian airline Norwegian reports a profit before tax of 477 million Norwegian kronor for the second quarter of the year. This is a profit decrease of 11 percent compared to the profit for the corresponding quarter a year earlier, which was 538 million.
Revenues for the quarter increased by 36 percent to 9.35 billion Norwegian kronor, up from 6.87 billion.
Norwegian lowered its profit forecast for the full year 2024 to an operating result of 2.1-2.6 billion Norwegian kronor ahead of the interim report. The company cited weak demand for air travel, significant wage increases for pilots, more expensive fuel, delayed aircraft deliveries from Boeing, and negative currency effects.
