Producer prices in the USA rose less than expected

Producer prices in the USA rose by 2.2 percent in July this year compared to the same month last year, according to a report from the USA's labor market department.

The average forecast was 2.3 percent, according to a compilation made by Bloomberg.

Compared to June this year, producer prices rose by 0.1 percent in July. Expectations were for a 0.2 percent price increase.
