A 35-year-old man randomly attacked randomly selected victims at several locations in central Västerås this spring.
He is now sentenced to four years and six months in prison for aggravated assault, gross unlawful threats, and drug offenses, reports SVT Västmanland. The prosecutor had requested a life sentence for four attempted murder cases, according to SVT.
It was on April 19 that the man assaulted a teenage boy outside a high school, and then stabbed and threatened to murder three women in their 70s, one of whom was seriously injured.
The suspected man was arrested in a villa garden a few kilometers away, and was shot by the police during the arrest.
