France's Prime Minister François Bayrou survived his first vote of no confidence in the National Assembly on Thursday, after the Left Party failed to win over the far-right in the vote of no confidence.
The relatively newly appointed Prime Minister was subjected to the vote after he had previously proclaimed that drastic cuts are required to address the French budget deficit. At the same time, Bayrou opened up for new talks on the heavily criticized pension reforms that have been introduced with a higher retirement age.
The predecessor in the Prime Minister's post, Michel Barnier, fell in a vote of no confidence in December after just over three months in office.
