A person is missing after the severe villa fire in Källby in Götene municipality.
We fear that one person may still be in what remains of the property. When we arrived at the scene, the residents had spontaneously evacuated, but one person is missing, says Magnus Schildt, duty officer at the police.
The rescue service was alerted to the fire at around 9 pm on Friday evening, and by 4 am on Saturday, they were still working at the scene, according to the police.
When we got there, flames were shooting out of windows and doors, says Stefan Johansson, internal commander at Samhällsskydd Mellersta Skaraborg.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into arson.
We are using it initially as a tool to be able to investigate, cordon off and examine what happened, says Magnus Schildt.
