The police are launching a preliminary investigation into the sale of the land belonging to Dalhalla.

P4 Dalarna revealed last week that the land was sold at an underprice by a municipal chief.

The investigation has been classified as breach of trust against a principal and concerns a deal that took place in 2019 between a municipal chief and the private company Dalhalla Management.

No external valuation was made of the limestone quarry, which was sold for 190,000 kronor. According to estimates, the land, which does not include the stage and buildings, could have fetched 1.5-2 million.

A private individual has now reported Rättvik Municipality to the police following P4 Dalarna's investigation. The police are currently referring to the secrecy of the preliminary investigation, reports the radio channel.

Despite Dalhalla's significance for Rättvik, municipal politicians were not informed in advance. The chief who carried out the sale has left the municipality but claims he felt forced to go through with the deal.
