Pernilla: I'll stay on next summer

Pernilla Wahlgren continues as the host of Sweden's sunniest program. She announces this in tonight's "Allsång på Skansen". As long as people are satisfied and think I'm doing a good job, I'll happily stay, she says to TT.

Next summer will be the third season for the singer, who has had to struggle with lower viewer ratings due to competition from various sports events this season. But SVT is satisfied and chooses to give renewed confidence to the "Wahlgrens värld" profile, who says to TT that it was not a difficult decision to stand up again next summer.

It's a very fun and luxurious summer job. I'm also very free. It's up to me if I can do my things so I can go away and study texts between times.

Final broadcast

On Tuesday evening, Pernilla Wahlgren anchored the eighth program for the summer. After this year's last "Stockholm in my heart" became another tribute to the capital – in a significantly more melancholic tone when Orup performed the ballad "Stockholm" alone on the piano.

The sing-along scene was sprinkled with American TikTok star glamour in the form of viral country star Dasha, who also joined in on the sing-along to Dolly Parton's "Jolene".

It was completely spontaneous, we didn't know if she would want to participate. But she knew the whole text, which was good since we didn't have time to get it up on the screens, says Wahlgren.

How was it to interview in English?

It's maybe not my strongest side. But you have to try to relax. Overall, I've been much more relaxed this year than last season. I've found a calm now.

Ceremonious conclusion

When the audience finally stood up and lit up the sky with the help of mobile lamps and Pernilla Wahlgren's own "Hybris" gang sang about how they would take the sing-along out into the world, the season got a ceremonial (and spectacular) conclusion.

It was fun to be able to surprise with the Hybris gang. Last year, Benjamin visited and then I was the one who was surprised, I had no idea he would come.

This year's final broadcast went without any dramatic events – in contrast to last year when country singer David Ritschard fainted on stage in the final.

It was chaotic, but I wasn't that worried this year. You can't go around being prepared for someone to faint, even if it can clearly happen. I can forget to eat sometimes and then I have to remind myself, because it's an incredible adrenaline rush to be out there on stage.
