Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his right-wing party Fidesz are taking a significant step back in Hungary and appear to be having their worst election since 2006.
The party is still the largest in the country with just under 44% of the votes and is likely to send 11 elected representatives to the European Parliament.
The biggest headlines in Hungary are being created by the newly formed opposition party Tisza, which in its first election attracted just over 30% of the voters. No other party is receiving more than 9% of the votes.
The results are preliminary, with around 60% of the votes counted.
