It's about limiting access to certain types of semi-automatic weapons, such as the AR-15, which an investigation from last year suggested, among other things.
The investigation has some important proposals that feel particularly urgent in these terrible times, says the Prime Minister in connection with a visit to Latvia.
Will it become harder to get, for example, a hunting license?
A hunting license is an education you take to learn how to hunt, formally it's separate from the gun license. We want to ensure that only the right people have guns in Sweden, says Kristersson and adds:
I have great respect for Sweden's hunters, but it must be the right people who have guns.
As a consequence of the incident in Örebro, Education Minister Lotta Edholm (L) has said that she wants to see locked schools. According to Ulf Kristersson, it's a question that the government is now looking into:
We will return to that issue, he says.
The Prime Minister emphasizes again that he currently does not want to draw any conclusions regarding the ongoing police investigation into the mass shooting at Campus Risbergska.
Let the police do their job. We have great confidence in the police's ability in an incredibly difficult situation and have very great respect for the fact that the police must inform the relatives in the right way.
It's a very, very difficult time. There will come a day when we can draw political and other conclusions from this, says Ulf Kristersson.
