Two-time Copa America champions Chile had to settle for 0–0 in the premiere against Peru in this year's edition of the football tournament. This after, among other things, Inter player Alexis Sanchez missed an excellent opportunity as early as the 16th minute when he, free in the penalty area, missed the goal.
The result now opens up for Argentina, who in their premiere match defeated Canada 2–0 and thus lead the table. A key match will now be on Tuesday when Argentina and Chile face each other in New Jersey.
