Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sent an sms to Smilla Holmberg to show his support after the 18-year-old missed the decisive penalty in the European Championship quarterfinal against England in Zürich.
This is told by her father Ola Persson in P4 Extra.
The former star striker is said to have written that Holmberg is "tough" and that she "should take the next penalty, and the next" and "to believe in herself, that's decisive”.
Ibrahimovic is a part-owner of Holmberg's club Hammarby. As a 22-year-old, he himself missed a penalty when the men's national team was eliminated in the European Championship quarterfinal against the Netherlands in 2004.
