After Thursday's initial public stage, Oliver Solberg picked up the pace properly when it was time for the longer special stages at the Estonian World Championship rally.
The party started already on the second special stage – Peipsiäare, which is the rally's longest stage over 24 kilometers – for Oliver Solberg. The 23-year-old won that stage by just over five seconds, which was also his first stage victory ever in the WRC class.
When there were also additional victories on special stages four and seven, as well as second places on three special stages, the success was a fact.
On Friday evening, Oliver Solberg was overjoyed:
This is the best day of my life. To lead overall and win some stages and then have a wonderful contact with the car. This is the best day of my life.
Going into the weekend, Solberg leads by just over twelve seconds ahead of Estonia's home hope Ott Tänak.
