Foreign visitors in Sweden spent significantly more money this summer than last year. According to the company Nets, which offers payment solutions for various credit and debit cards, foreign card purchases increased by 6.8 percent in terms of turnover, compared to last summer.
The largest share of the total turnover took place in Strömstad and Stockholm, with just over 20 percent each. The border trade in Strömstad contributed to Norwegian visitors accounting for the largest share of the total turnover. When it comes to the largest average purchase, the list is topped by Irish visitors (1,450 kronor) and then tourists from China (874 kronor, according to Nets).
