Totally, 3.3 million passengers traveled through Swedavia's airports in July. This corresponds to an increase of two percent compared to the same month last year.
Domestic traffic accounted for the largest increase of seven percent, while the same figure for international flights was two percent.
The increasing demand has led to the opening of 15 new air lines during the summer, nine from Arlanda airport and six from Landvetter. Of these, six were to new charter destinations around the world.
If you look back to the year before the pandemic struck and travel decreased drastically, the total travel this year is up to 88 percent of the levels in 2019.
The most passengers passed through Sweden's largest airport Arlanda outside Stockholm in July, a total of 2.4 million. Next was Landvetter with 610,000 passengers.
