It never became an SHL debut for the Norwegian talent Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, before the move went to North America for a preseason with the NHL club Detroit Red Wings.
But now Skellefteå supporters get a pleasant message. Even the NHL debut has to wait.
The 19-year-old is namely loaned back to Skellefteå, after Detroit chose to trim its preseason squad. The club announces this on its website.
Brandsegg-Nygård broke through with a bang in HockeyAllsvenskan and Mora last season. 28 points in 53 matches were enough to become the first Norwegian ever to be drafted in the first round, as the 15th pick.
Even Swedish players Elmer Söderblom and William Wallinder are left out of Detroit's trimmed squad, and are moved down to the organization's AHL team.
