The party's immigration policy spokesperson Erlend Wiborg says to Norwegian P4 that "it is completely wrong of Norway to grant residence permits to individuals who evade military service".
President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has been very clear that Ukraine needs more soldiers. Norway should not contribute to people who shirk military service getting a safe haven here, says Wiborg.
Norway has granted 18,000 Ukrainian men of fighting age temporary protection since the war broke out.
According to Wiborg, Norwegian authorities should require documentation to prevent that group from getting protection in the country.
Those who cannot prove that they are exempt from military service cannot get protection. They should be sent back to Ukraine so that they can contribute to protecting Ukrainian lives and Ukraine's independence, says Wiborg.
