Norway's government wants to increase support to Ukraine with five billion Norwegian kronor, equivalent to approximately 4.85 billion Swedish kronor, this year. Additionally, the country will provide at least 15 billion per year until 2030, announces Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
We have proposed introducing a floor for our support to Ukraine, where 15 billion Norwegian kronor will form the basis for the support each year, instead of a ceiling of 75 billion Norwegian kronor, he says.
With a floor, one gets the opportunity to continuously consider additional allocations, he emphasizes.
Overall, the framework for the so-called Nansen package, a collective term for Norway's support to Ukraine, is proposed to be expanded to 135 billion Norwegian kronor.
