Trump's former rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, give him their full support.

He has my full support. Period!", says the former UN Ambassador Haley in a speech at the party convention in Milwaukee with a smiling Trump below the podium.

Haley was harshly attacked by Trump until she gave up her campaign in March, as the last remaining challenger to Trump.

"Can't betray"

A month and a half earlier, Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, gave up his attempts to become the party's candidate. The Trump campaign had long insulted him, including with sexual innuendos, and for being a (female) weakling without ability.

But DeSantis also claimed, in a speech at the convention, that the USA will not survive unless Trump wins the election in November.

He has been demonized and almost lost his life, we can't betray him, said DeSantis.

Has turned

Nikki Haley, who during her time as presidential candidate said that the USA cannot handle four more years of the chaos surrounding Trump as president, has now turned her argumentation 180 degrees. The USA cannot do without Trump, is the message now.

A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris, we must choose Trump.

Foreign policy is usually, at least according to assessors outside the Republicans, described as one of Trump's weaknesses. But Haley says that she knows better than others what it stands for.

Putin invaded Crimea when Obama was president and all of Ukraine when Biden was president. But he didn't do it when Trump was president because he knows that Trump is strong, said Haley.
