Singer Neneh Cherry and author Anne Applebaum can both receive the British non-fiction book prize, Women's Prize for Nonfiction, writes The Guardian. Neneh Cherry, who has long been resident in London, is nominated for her autobiography "Tusen trådar" which was published in Swedish last autumn. Among the 16 nominees is also Labour politician Yuan Yang, who in "Private Revolutions" writes about modern China.
Anne Applebaum is nominated for "Autokrati AB" which was also published in Swedish last autumn and deals with how the world's autocrats cooperate to enrich themselves as if they belonged to a kind of global company.
The shortlist with six of the nominees for the prize of approximately 4,000,000 kronor will be presented on March 26. Last year, the prize went to Naomi Klein for "Doppelgänger". This year's winner will be revealed on June 12.
