Tesla founder Elon Musk is moving Space X and X's headquarters to Texas, in protest against California's new law on gender identity.
The fact that schools no longer need to inform parents about the gender a student chooses to identify as was the last straw for the father of twelve.
Now, Musk is announcing that he is moving both Space X and the headquarters of the social media platform X – which he bought for 44 billion dollars in October 2022 – from California to Texas.
I made it clear to (California's governor) already a year ago that this kind of law would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children, writes Musk on X.
As early as 2021, he moved Tesla's headquarters from Palo Alto to Austin, Texas, and he has himself settled in the state, which does not take out any income tax from private individuals.
