At least seven people have died and several have been injured in a violent apartment fire in the residential area of Les Moulins in Nice, according to French media.
The police are searching for three people suspected of arson.
The alarm about the fire came just after 2 am on Thursday.
When the rescue service arrived at the scene, the top floor of the building was fully ablaze. Despite an extensive effort, seven people died. There are reportedly children among the deceased. Three more people were taken to hospital.
