According to the measurement company MMS's figures, the program was watched on SVT this year by 3,089,000 viewers, making it one of the year's most watched programs. Last year, the figure was around 2.9 million.
Compared to previous years, however, the viewing of the classic Christmas Eve program has decreased significantly. For example, in the pandemic year 2020, the program was watched by over 4.5 million viewers.
"Donald Duck and his friends wish you a Merry Christmas" premiered on American TV in 1958. Two years later, SVT began broadcasting the program on Christmas Eve.
