Many homeowners' personal finances have improved since the price shock in society has subsided, according to a survey from Nordea.
"It is reassuring that more and more people can afford increased costs. The low-conjuncture seems to have bottomed out and electricity prices, fuel prices, and now also mortgage rates have fallen, and many Swedes have lower costs," says Nordea's private economist Anders Stenkrona in a written comment.
Six out of ten (61 percent) homeowners now respond that they would be able to afford an increased monthly cost of more than 6,000 kronor. In the previous survey in the spring, slightly more than five out of ten (53 percent) thought they would be able to do so.
Nearly six out of ten believe in higher housing prices next year, significantly more than in the spring (four out of ten). Many who have thought about selling are waiting, three out of four who have considered it say they are waiting.
Over a thousand people have responded to the questions asked last week in September.
