The court also decides at the detention hearing in Lund District Court that he shall undergo a minor forensic psychiatric examination.
The new suspicions have emerged during the ongoing preliminary investigation.
"When the police went through the man's units, recorded material was found in the form of secret filming in public environments at various locations in Skåne. I assess that the material may constitute sexual assaults against children", says prosecutor Anders Stridh in a press release.
No physical harm
There are no suspicions that any child has been physically harmed, he emphasizes.
The 37-year-old man participates in the hearing via link from the remand prison in Malmö. The prosecutor and defense attorney Anna Carlén also participate via link.
He still denies the prosecutor's application for detention and the special grounds for detention and denies the application for restrictions, says Anna Carlén.
The rest of the detention hearing is held behind closed doors.
Released on parole
The Nytorgs man was convicted in February 2022 by the Svea Court of Appeal. There, the district court's previous sentence of five years' imprisonment for, among other things, seven rapes, eight sexual assaults, and six cases of sexual harassment was upheld.
Despite the man misbehaving during his prison sentence, and the risk of reoffending being assessed as high, he was released on parole in March last year after serving two-thirds of his sentence.
The release upset private individuals, politicians, and former victims.
