Tiktok has found and shut down more anonymous accounts linked to the Sweden Democrats. This emerges in a fresh transparency report from the social media platform, which Emanuel Karlsten, journalist and social media expert, was the first to report on.
In total, Tiktok has found 35 anonymous accounts linked to the Sweden Democrats, i.e. 22 more than the 13 that were revealed in TV4's "Kalla fakta" investigation in May.
In the report, Tiktok writes that "the network created misleading profiles, including accounts that pretended to be from government agencies".
Already in June, Tiktok announced that it had shut down the 13 anonymous accounts that were exposed.
"This has nothing to do with us. We have no anonymous accounts today. Exactly how we will work on social media in the future remains to be seen, but it's not unreasonable that we draw inspiration from the Social Democrats in that regard", says the Sweden Democrats' press department in a written comment to TT.
