A wing was completely destroyed in the fire at Skärva Manor on Sunday evening. The building is part of the World Heritage Site Örlogsstaden Karlskrona.

A wing of the building has been lost, we estimate it to about 20 percent of the property, says rescue leader Magnus Kärvhag.

The alarm about the fire came at around 18.30 on Sunday and the extinguishing work became complicated.

It's a very old building with many different nooks and dry wood, so it spread quickly. You had to set up a boundary and try to hold it.

Three people were checked by ambulance personnel, but they did not need to go to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but according to the police, there is no suspicion of crime.
