The lawyer was severely assaulted and battered in the stairwell leading to her residence. As a result of the assault, she lost her sight in one eye. A 65-year-old man has now been charged with aggravated assault.

The assault took place in April this year in Norrköping. According to the indictment, which was submitted to Norrköping District Court on Monday, the now-charged man allegedly struck and kicked the woman's face, head, and body, pressed his thumbs into her eyes, and covered her nose and mouth. The victim suffered bleeding and swelling all over her body and lost her sight in one eye.

The now-charged man surrendered to the police the day after the assault and has been detained since then.

According to what several media outlets have previously reported, the lawyer had professional contact with the man. He is believed to have a serious mental disorder.
