The man dropped his dog from a balcony on the third floor, reports Sydsvenskan with reference to an indictment against the dog owner.
The incident, which several people witnessed, occurred in Malmö in March.
Barely two weeks later, the man was suspected again of having abused his dog. According to the indictment, the man dealt hard blows or pressed against the dog's body.
Now the man is being prosecuted for animal cruelty and gross animal cruelty at Malmö District Court.
The man denies the crime.
