He has been exposed to crimes by individuals who then set fire to his store, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson for the police.
The smoke from the store spread through a duct in a basement to a residential building.
The man is being treated at the hospital, but his injuries are not considered serious, given the circumstances, according to Österling.
The criminal charges for the events that the police are investigating are now assault and, after a forensic investigation in the store, aggravated arson.
The alarm about the incident in Rinkeby came shortly after 10 pm on Friday evening. At that time, there were reports of an explosion and smoke from a building.
A fire with heavy smoke development had broken out in the premises. Late in the evening, when the rescue service had extinguished the fire, the police announced that it was unclear whether an explosion had occurred.
