A young man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Upplands-Bro, northwest of Stockholm, reports Mitti.
The incident occurred on the evening of July 30, when a man in his 30s was shot to death outdoors. About a month after the incident, the police had not arrested anyone for the murder, and then chose to release a surveillance video showing a suspected shooter.
On the same day the video was released, the now-arrested man was apprehended, according to the newspaper. The incident is considered a so-called "misfire".
We are now fairly convinced that the person who died was not the target of this crime, said prosecutor Jenny Östling, who led the preliminary investigation, to Mitti some time after the murder.
According to documents from Attunda District Court, two people are suspected in the case, but only one of them has been arrested. He is suspected of murder and aggravated weapons offense. It is unclear whether it is the same person shown in the surveillance video released by the police.
