The prosecutor requested that the man be detained on probable grounds for murder, but instead he was detained on reasonable suspicion of aiding and abetting murder.
It was on Tuesday afternoon that a man in his 40s was shot to death in the Berga district of Linköping. According to the police, the victim was a leading gang criminal in the so-called "Berga network".
The two other persons who were detained on reasonable suspicion of involvement in the crime have been released.
"The two persons who are now released are still suspects, but the suspicions have not been strengthened to the extent that there are grounds to request their detention", says senior prosecutor Emma Högström, investigation leader, in a press release.
All three suspects are, according to the prosecutor, in their 20-25 years old.
