Four special episodes of the series "Malcolm in the middle" (or "Malcolm – a genius in the family", as it was initially called on Swedish TV) are now being recorded for Disney+.
The original series was broadcast from 2000 to 2006 and revolves around four brothers and their parents. The family's world is turned upside down when son Malcolm turns out to have a very high IQ and gets to start in an elite class.
In a trailer, the now adult Malcolm (played by Frankie Muniz) is seen interacting with his parents. According to the streaming service, the new episodes will be about Malcolm and his daughter visiting their parents to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
It is still unclear whether the other three brothers, played by Christopher Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Erik Per Sullivan, will return to the series.
