Forssmed notes that many people today are affected by loneliness.
Every fifth Swede is bothered by loneliness. Six percent are always or often bothered by loneliness. That's 600,000 people in our country, he says.
Several countries in Europe – for example, Denmark, Finland, England, and the Netherlands – already have a national strategy against loneliness. The Swedish strategy has as a partial goal that social arenas should be accessible to everyone, that there should be fewer obstacles to social participation, and that fewer people should experience long-term loneliness.
There should be good conditions for everyone to have social relationships, says Olivia Wigzell.
