The Left Party's executive committee made the decision to exclude him on Wednesday evening. Kristofer Lundberg has, among other things, expressed support for the Palestinian PFLP, classified as a terrorist organization.
Maria Forsberg says that a comprehensive assessment lies behind, and that Lundberg's actions have created great ambiguity about what the Left Party stands for on fundamental issues.
He has had major collaboration difficulties and also shown support for one of the organizations that participated in the attacks on October 7.
Has not contributed
Maria Forsberg says that the party has had a process to resolve the situation, but that Kristofer Lundberg has not contributed.
Lundberg himself does not think the decision is unexpected, he tells TT.
Had I been alone and isolated, it would have felt very tough. But over the past three weeks, I have now received hundreds of messages and calls and support from all over the country, both within the Left Party and outside the Left Party.
Kristofer Lundberg has previously told GP that he has entered into an agreement with, among others, the Left Party's party secretary Aron Etzler and that he has followed it "to the letter and dot".
We do not think he has followed the agreements that have been made, says Maria Forsberg.
Meeting with the central council
The Jewish Central Council has recently decided to ban the Left Party from its memorial ceremonies and party leader Nooshi Dadgostar has invited the council to a meeting.
Maria Forsberg says that the exclusion of Kristofer Lundberg has nothing to do with the upcoming meeting.
No, this was initiated before they went out with their message. We took the decision two weeks ago to initiate an exclusion process.
Several Left politicians have been accused of anti-Semitism this autumn. Orwa Kadoura in Malmö and Ali Hadrous in Landskrona have left the party after spreading anti-Semitic claims.
