Several spectators who watched "King Lear" at the Dramaten had to leave the performance after getting wet in the auditorium.
Visitor Tommy Tolf from Gnosjö was sitting in the audience and initially thought it was an effect in the performance.
It was, among other things, water in the ceiling rose, so there must have been a lot of water up there that now needs to be sanitized, he says to Expressen.
The National Property Board is currently renovating the roof of the Dramaten, and a weather shield was supposed to prevent water from entering the house. But it was no match for the downpour that hit Stockholm on Thursday evening.
Now they have fixed the weather shield and will work on it during the day so that it gets reinforced. Fortunately, there is no indication of any other damage to the house, says Lena Törner to TT.
The performance of "King Lear" continued despite the leak, but the spectators who left the auditorium will receive compensation.
The Dramaten states that tonight's performance on the Main Stage of "Life and Death Strömquist" will take place as planned.
