During the year, a total of 152 million products with a value of approximately 35 billion kronor were seized, writes the Patent and Registration Office (PRV) in a press release.

Many counterfeit products do not meet safety requirements and are often manufactured in factories that also contribute to environmental destruction. As a buyer, one also risks supporting criminal activity if one buys pirate copies, writes PRV.

Most of the counterfeit goods come from China.
