It was win or bust for Kif Örebro in the season's second-to-last Damallsvenskan match. At least one point and the chance to play in the top league next year remained.
But Häcken, clear top-three in the table, proved too tough an assignment for the Örebro team.
Häcken is a team we can't compete with, there's a difference of 10 million in player budget. They were bloody good today, it felt like they had two more players on the pitch, says Kif Örebro's coach Rickard Johansson.
We've struggled for several years with limited resources and a small organization and managed to hang on for three years. But this year we had too much player rotation and all the experienced players left.
Poor start to the season
He says that conceding three goals in added time in the series' first four matches gave the team a starting point that they couldn't recover from.
Häcken secured the win as early as the 15th minute. Through goals by Hikaru Kitagawa and Alice Bergström.
In the second half, it was the Anna Anvegård/Tabby Tindell/Clarissa Larisey trio that played their way to both 3–0 and 4–0.
We did what was required today and had fun out there, says Anvegård to Viaplay.
567 days after an ACL injury and giving birth, Häcken's Danish national team striker Stine Larsen made her comeback. She came on in the 81st minute.
"Hope they enjoyed it"
It was in April 2023 that the ACL injury occurred for the second time in her career. When she was going to be out for a longer period anyway, she and her husband Emil decided to try to have a child.
Daughter Lulu was born in February and in the summer, Stine Larsen could start training again.
It was also a farewell at Bravida Arena as Häcken's goalkeeper Loes Geurts said goodbye in the 88th minute in her very last match of her career.
I hope they (Larsen and Geurts) got to enjoy it a bit. It's sad that Loes is retiring, but she got a nice sendoff. And fun that Stine got a few minutes, she's been struggling for a long time now, says Anvegård.
