The New York-based major bank JP Morgan Chase & Co is recruiting personnel in the Nordic countries, to challenge North European banks on their home turf, reports the news agency Bloomberg.

The focus is on corporate advisory services to medium-sized companies, says Jonas Wikmark, who is one of two heads of JP Morgan's Nordic unit.

Currently, JP Morgan has over 100 employees in Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Oslo – which is an increase of 50 percent over four years.

We are recruiting right now, says Wikmark to the news agency.

Besides medium-sized companies, the bank is focused on so-called investment banking and banking services to wealthy private individuals, as well as venture capital projects and start-ups.
