"The threat was neutralized in an attack," the military announces in a statement, where it is said that terrorist activities were discovered in southern Lebanon.
The ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah came into effect on Wednesday night, Swedish time, but since then, both sides have accused each other of breaking it. Israel has previously announced that the country has attacked targets in southern Lebanon since the ceasefire began.
According to the ceasefire, Israel is to gradually withdraw its forces southward during a transitional period, while Hezbollah is to move its fighters northward, north of the Litani River.
Prior to the ceasefire, it was estimated that at least 900,000 Lebanese had fled their homes.
