Israel attacked border areas between Lebanon and Syria on Thursday evening, announces the Israeli military (IDF).
The Iran-backed Hezbollah is active in the areas to smuggle weapons into Lebanon, according to IDF. "These activities constitute a blatant violation of the agreements on ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon", the military writes in a statement.
Several people are said to have been injured in the attack, according to the British-based Syrian Human Rights Observatory (SOHR).
