The news agency AFP writes that leaders from Finland, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, EU Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen and EU Council President António Costa will attend the meeting.
The consultation will deal with measures to put pressure on Russia, as well as preparations for possible peace negotiations and related issues of security and territorial claims, writes the news agency AP and refers to a statement from Merz.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, two days before the planned meeting on Friday between Trump and Russia's President Vladimir Putin.
