Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party) has called for extraordinary meetings ahead of the summit between the USA and Russia on Friday.

It is about the National Security Council and the Committee on Foreign Affairs where all the Riksdag parties participate.

The meetings were held on Monday, the Prime Minister writes on Instagram.

"How Russia's war against Ukraine ends will affect our security for at least a generation ahead", Kristersson writes in the post.

"We are preparing for different scenarios", he writes further.

The Prime Minister states that he will continue to talk to his European colleagues during the week.

"No negotiations about Ukraine without Ukraine, no negotiations about Europe without Europe", writes Ulf Kristersson.

On Monday, the EU's foreign ministers will also gather for an extraordinary crisis meeting about Ukraine and the upcoming summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin about the war.

The EU's Foreign Chief Kaja Kallas, who has called the meeting, has warned against a peace agreement that does not include Ukrainian participation or offers sufficient protection against future Russian attacks on Ukraine or Europe.
