An American court in New York has decided to reject the Department of Justice's request to disclose the interviews with Ghislaine Maxwell, the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's former girlfriend and assistant.

The court states at the same time that they in the investigation have not been able to prove that anyone else, except Epstein and Maxwell, should have had sexual contact with a minor, reports NBC News. Nor have any new details about crime scenes or Epstein's death emerged in the investigation.

"The entire premise – that the transcripts from Maxwell's interrogation would imply new meaningful information about Epstein's and Maxwell's crimes, or the government's investigation of them, – is proven to be false", the judgment states.

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his prison cell in New York in 2019 while awaiting trial. According to the forensic pathologist, the cause of death is suicide, but his death is surrounded by several conspiracy theories. Ghislaine Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for her involvement in the crimes.

The Department of Justice's request came after President Donald Trump asked his Justice Minister Pam Bondi to make public the testimonies from the Epstein investigation. The American people had previously shown great dissatisfaction with the Department of Justice's announcement not to make public any more documents from the investigation.
