Paulo Fonseca becomes Milan's new trainer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic presented the news at a press conference as a representative for Milan's owner Redbird.
We've been searching for a long time for what we want and after many talks, we've come to the conclusion that it's Fonseca. We want dominant play, offensive. We want to give something new to Milan. How he trains, how he prepares matches. Fonseca is the right man. We believe a lot in him, says Ibrahimovic according to Aftonbladet.
The Portuguese replaces Stefano Pioli, who was sacked after the last season.
Fonseca, 31, comes most recently from French Lille, where he was for two seasons. Fonseca has signed a three-year contract with Milan.
He has previously trained clubs such as Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk and Braga.
Milan finished second in Serie A last season and won the league in 2022.
