More than 230 students and twelve employees are absent from Soltorgsgymnasiet in Borlänge, reports Borlänge Tidning. The majority of those absent are on sick leave, and only half of the students are present.
This is unusual, says Helena Ernlund, infection control doctor, to the newspaper.
We are operating as well as we can, says Philip Landström, deputy headmaster.
Soltorgsgymnasiet has been in contact with the region's infection control unit. Philip Landström does not yet know what disease it is about.
It has not been confirmed yet, but the region's prognosis is that it is the flu. Samples have been taken from some of the staff, he says.
