In total, 600 containers are being removed, both those located at recycling centers and on private land. The collection organization is terminating its agreement with around 20 municipalities, reports P4 Skaraborg.
From the turn of the year, it is no longer allowed to throw away broken clothes in the trash. The consequence has been that the containers intended for textiles that can be reused are now largely filled with unsellable textile waste.
We have the biggest problem at the recycling centers, where it can be about 30-40 percent rubbish and waste, which we then have to pay to get rid of, says Ulrika Drevhage.
At the same time, Humana's clothing collection is getting a lower kilo price for the textiles that are to be further sorted in other European countries.
Our warehouses are packed. There is no market for this anymore, because it is flooded. All of Europe is flooded, says Ulrika Drevhage.
